Spaceworks NYC7/13 – 2/17

The most complex site I’ve made to date, allowing hundreds of NYC artists to reserve and rent rehearsal spaces. It includes a user account- and management-system; integration with a reservation calendar system (Planyo.com); real-time push updates written in Node.js (when one user reserves a space, that information is pushed, live, to all other users viewing the site, preventing reservation conflicts); a shopping cart with payment via PayPal or credit card; and integration with a key-card system. Because my usual web-host wasn’t up to the task, I set this site up on Google Compute Engine, and honed my Linux server admin skills in the process.
